AVEPRO

AVEPRO is the Holy See Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of the Quality of Education at Universities and Faculties of the Church. It was established by Pope Bene-dict XVI in a letter from 19 of September 2007.

The direct aim of AVEPRO is to work closely and harmoniously with ecclesiastical facul-ties and universities throughout Europe, as required by the Apostolic Constitution of Sapientia Christiana, to help to create robust procedures for quality assurance in ac-cordance with the requirements of the Bologna Process and the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

AVEPRO's principles for assessing the quality of education are based on the standards developed by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European University Association (EUA), the European Association of High-er Education Institutions (EURASHE) and the European Students' Union (ESU, formerly known as ESIB) and adopted by European Ministers of Education in 2005.

AVEPRO ensures that its institutions meet international standards while respecting the recommendations of the Sapientia christiana Constitution in light of changing external circumstances.
